About Tikal National Park

Tikal National Park is Guatemala's most famous archaeological site and one of the largest archaeological sites and urban centers of the ancient Maya civilization. This UNESCO World Heritage Site covers 575 square kilometers of pristine rainforest in northern Guatemala.

Home to over 3,000 structures dating from 600 BC to AD 900, Tikal features some of the tallest pre-Columbian structures in the Americas. Temple IV rises 65 meters above the jungle floor, offering breathtaking views of the endless rainforest canopy.

Fly to Flores Airport (FRS) or drive from Guatemala City (8-10 hours).

Entry Fee

150 GTQ for foreigners. Park opens at 6:00 AM and closes at 6:00 PM.
